Mixed doubles favorite quits final due to heart problem 2009-09-20 17:25:00

CHANGZHOU, Jiangsu Province, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese player quit the mixed doubles final due to some heart problem during the China Masters badminton Super Series here on Sunday.

Title favorite Xie Zhongbo and his partner left the match trailing at 21-13, 19-21, 4-8 when Xie didn't feel very well.

"He did not feel well and went to the hospital," said Chinese head coach Li Yongbo.

The championship went to another Chinese pair Tao Jiaming and Wang Xiaoli.

It was not the first time that Xie suffered a heart problem during competition. He was diagnosed premature beat in 2007 after he was eliminated from the quarterfinals at the China Masters.
